Type Taffy is a creative coding project centered around the physical interaction between language and motion. The concept behind the project is a system where the user is able to physically pull apart words through the use of a hand crank connected to a sensor. Users type words into the system using a keyboard, with the text displayed through a projected screen interface. As the crank is turned, the words stretch vertically and pull apart like strands of taffy being slowly separated. This project explores the relationship between tactile interaction and typography while combining creative coding with physical installation design, created using p5.js and a circuit board. Resources and research to create this creative coding include Claude and P5 resource pages.
